The Great Escape

The Great Escape
As you may be aware, two of our wallabies escaped their paddock last night. It is unusual because wallabies are very loyal to their 'mob'. It is likely that something spooked them and caused them to bolt. We quickly located one and returned it to the group last night. The search for the missing wallaby continued through the night and throughout the morning.

The hero of the day was one of our students! Both Ryan Gilbery and Ryan Mitchell attend BEES (Bespoke Engaging Education Services) once a week from Longcause Community Special School. It was Ryan Gilbery who saved the day! The boys had only just arrived and were immediately briefed about the missing wallaby. Before the briefing had ended eagle eyed, Ryan Gilbery spotted the wallaby trying to get back into the paddock!

The boys Were fantastic, assisting the team to safely guide Jimmy back to the rest of the Wallabies.

We'd like to thank those members of the public that took the trouble to contact us with sightings, and who sent us messages of support on social media. We’d also like to thank our neighbours at Newnham Park for allowing us access to their grounds so we could expand our search. Both of the animals are well and seem unfazed by their escapade.

Thank you all so much.
