Visit To The John Muir Trust

Visit To The John Muir Trust
It was a real honour to be invited up to see the work that is going on with The John Muir Trust, and how they are educating the community on the importance of deer management for conservation.

The Estates Manager was intrigued by our Hook It & Cook It activities and wanted to show is what they do with Hill 2 Grill.

Their popular programme saw over 20 young people, and many adults from varying disciplines and backgrounds, attend a three day course, where they learn about deer stalking and management. They then return to the base where they get to see the butchery process, have a hearty venison meal and even get to take some home.

It’s great to know that these people are fully informed and understand their environment and what shapes it.

It was great to share the experience with wingman Ben Whitehorn! Epically long drive but fantastic company and a laugh a minute.

An unexpected treat was a venison hamper!
