Great Session With Our New Coombe Dean group

Great Session With Our New Coombe Dean group
We had a great session with out new Coombe Dean group yesterday. We found an amazingly well preserved military button before stopping for a break and group discussion about the farm history.

We discussed the arrow slits and how the farm seems to have been fortified at some point. This led on to talks about muskets and musket balls, with one of our lads from a military family. We know people have found musket balls here.

After the break, we continued our treasure hunt The first dig and we found our first musket ball. The excitement amongst the group was amazing to witness. Bringing history to life. Big shoutout to Ben Whitehorn for lending us his metal detector and helping us inspire children to love learning.

If anyone has more information to help us identify the regiment/age etc. please let us know.
